    MultiChoice adds audio to DStv

    MultiChoice has added three audio channels to DStv and expanded the History channel from an 18 hour to a 24 hour broadcast service.

    The three radio stations; 94.7 Highveld Stereo, Kfm and Jozi FM and have been added to MultiChoice's DStv platform from 1 August 2008, on the DStv Premium, DStv Compact, DStv Select, EasyView, DStv Indian and DStv Portuguesa bouquets.

    The audio bouquet provides DStv customers with a further choice in terms of a broadcast medium: 94.7 Highveld Stereo is rated number four on Gauteng's listenership list, Kfm boasts the highest listenership in the Western Cape and Jozi FM addresses matters of local and community interest.

    Said Aletta Alberts, MultiChoice general manager Content: “Radio continues to be a medium that many South Africans use and love. We are therefore delighted to add the three popular radio stations; 94.7 Highveld Stereo, Kfm and Jozi FM and to MultiChoice's DStv Audio bouquet. The addition will enable our customers access to radio stations that previously they could not listen to because of their location.

    Other radio stations available on the DStv audio bouquet include music stations 702, Jacaranda, YFM, Kaya and Classic FM, and for those listeners wanting a global perspective, BBC 1, 2 and 3 and RAI (Radio International Satellite radio) are available. Also included are specialised radio stations Jhankaar (Hindi and Bollywood information), Radio Wave and Radio energy and for Catholic listeners, Radio Veritas

    Jozi Fm can be found on audio channel 178, 94.7 Highveld Stereo on channel 179 and Kfm on channel180.

    DStv viewers can access the audio bouquet by pressing the music button on their remote control.

    Since its launch in 2003, the History channel continues to entertain and educate subscribers as they experience history personally, and connect their own lives to the great lives and events of the past. The History Channel brings to life history that is such an integral part of our lives. The extended hours will be broadcast in three eight hour loops, and will offer customers more opportunity to view compelling documentaries, that examine the events and experiences that have shaped our world.
