Lufthansa Group reports revenue surge in first half of 2018
Despite the implementation of the International Financial Reporting Standards' (IFRS) 15 accounting standard, German airline Lufthansa recorded a 5.2% increase in its revenue in the first half of 2018. The airline's adjusted EBIT (earnings before interest and taxes) margin is at 6% in comparison to 6.1% in the first half year of 2017.
Lufthansa also reported a record number of passengers carried for the period; 67 million. The airline also managed to reduce its unit costs by 0.6%, as a result of the efficiency enhancements at its subsidiary passenger airline Network Airlines.
