World Cup reality show site revealed

Shelley Point Hotel, Spa & Country Club was specially selected to host the Bud House competition: 32 fans from each of the 32 participating World Cup countries have been living together at The Shelley Point Hotel, Spa & Country Club for the duration of the World Cup.

Here, the fans slept together - in their groups - four to a room, eat together and watched all the games together. After the first round, the 16 participants who made it into the second round moved into the spacious and luxuriously appointed skybox where they had access to a private gym, health spa and private bar. As their team was eliminated, they returned to their group room for the rest of the show and World Cup.

The fans' daily activities were recorded and uploaded in episode-form on the Bud United Channel on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/BudUnited) - making this a football and online version of reality TV hit Big Brother; and a World Cup experience.

Rocket Films, the local company working for Ridley Scott & Associates (RSA) films - which was commissioned to produce Bud House - was in charge of scouting the Western Cape for locations. The final selection was then made by executive producer, Evan Weinstein (who is also the creator of hit reality TV series, Survivor) and then approved by DDB advertising agency and their client Anheuser-Busch for Budweiser.

Frolicking whales and dolphins

Situated 90 minutes from Cape Town on the glorious turquoise West Coast where the beaches are wrapped by white sand and the ocean is filled with frolicking whales and dolphins, and with its state-of-the art amenities, Shelley Point Hotel, Spa & Country Club was the ideal setting to host the reality show.

To date, 4 153 155 people have tuned in to watch the fans battle it out in footballing cheers and tears at the Bud House. Desmond O'Connor, GM of the Shelley Point Hotel, Spa & Country Club said: "The Bud House booking is not only a wonderful experience and exposure for the team here, but also for the great St. Helena Bay community. It proves that the West Coast can be a major player in the South African film and TV production industry by offering diverse natural beauty, rich cultures and outstanding service levels."
