Show profile Hide profileI have worked for UTi for the past 3 years, starting as a Graduate Trainee and quickly working my way up to Operations Supervisor Level. In the past 3 years I have gained valuable experience in mainly the Production Logistics industry (General Motors). I have also had exposure in receiving/Warehousing as well as Shipping. Below I have listed my key responsibilities.
Responsible for directing the logistics function of the plant, which includes production planning, procurement, warehousing and distribution in order to provide products which meet customer requirements. Effectively control cost related to the logistics function.
Act as communication champion and ensure that the drive for a positive employee relations environment is maintained.
Act as communication champion between UTi and the Client onsite
Ensure all KPI's are achieved daily
Ensure the General Motors Vision is upheld at all levels
Support the Company skills programme
Ensure adequate staffing and direct subordinates to achieve relevant goals timeously
Responsible for training, coaching, and guidance of subordinates
Monitor and report on the performance on a daily basis
Ensure optimum inventory levels and 100% material availability
Liaise closely with production planning to ensure material availability
Inventory control
Develop and sustain good relationships with the customer/Client
Control costs
Ensure data accuracy (stocks, bill of material and planning figures)
Ensure on-time deliveries of customer orders and on-time materials procurement
Ensure CIP goals are met and inline with the customers requirements
Profit maximization
Documentation about all inbound and outbound shipments and set up action plans to establish the targets (transport on tactical level)
In case of model changes: manage run-out planning, clean supply chain
Motivation and training of staff
Support new product/line launch (incl. packaging material necessary)
Stock data accuracy: PFEP
