Paul has worked in publishing for over thirty years alongside some of the best talent on top magazines; working up-market, middle-market and down-market; on publications aimed at men, those aimed at women, and at executive level on the world's leading newspapers. Paul qualified as a teacher of Physical Education with a B.Ed (Hons) degree from Liverpool University. He represented England Universities at both rugby and soccer before moving into magazine journalism on Cosmopolitan magazine (London), when he won Cosmopolitan's first "Young Journalists" writing competition in 1977, after suggesting that they produce the very first CosmoMan, which he subsequently worked on. After narrowly missing out on the prestigious launch Editor post at NatMag's Esquire Magazine in London, he went to edit Playboy in South Africa, and then Men's Health. Men's Health was the most successful magazine launch in SA and Paul built the magazine into a best-selling, profitable, award-winning powerhouse. He left after five years at the helm. The past eight years he has spent managing his own companies, which have honed his business skills and brought profit and loss into sharp focus, an experience he describes as his own personal MBA. He is also a celebrated author with ten books to his credit including his first, "Kate Bush - an illustrated biography" (1982) now a collector's item on e-bay, his fatherhood bestseller - "FABDAD", shortly to be available online, and the dating hit "Right Woman, Right now" (Piatkus) 2006.
