I have a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and also studying towards my Btech in Engineering mechanical with UNISA. My majors in this respectable field are documented in my CV and in summary they are in the league of General Engineering responsibilities and I am flexible to any Genre of field titled Engineering. I work in a manufacturing/motor assembly company which is one of the leading company group of which is in manufacturing and series production. From a technology point of view it has gone through and evolution from a mechanical advantage of a rate of producing 150 unit per day to a facility capacity of 1000 a day.
All this changes where implemented during the year 2007 - 2011 by the construction of the new paint shop, body shop, Engine Plant to a lean manufacturing final assembly.
I came in the company during this exciting time and joined the Engine Plant Project Planning team in implementing new facilities, laboratories and overheads services. In specific I was responsible for compiling layouts and constructing two laboratories; preparation, rigging and implementing an automated block machining facility, strip down of existing facilities and much more.
My day to day tasks was checking opportunity for process improments by implementing a Poke Yoke or new jig and fixture to secure our facility/line processes.
From this function I have the experience of utilising the following:
Represent engineering scope of supply and services in a project-team and in technical meetings towards the customer.
Managing a team in charge of the engineering scope of supply and services assigned.
Take-over project from the offer-team, review/comment and reach agreement on the actual project documentation: Scope of supply and Division of Work, Cost-calculation incl. supplier offers for tendering purposes, Technical and commercial contract documentation as appropriate for the team risk review.
Ensure that the design of the Engineering function is according to the applicable rules, regulations codes and standards and according to good engineering practise especially with regard to Environmental aspects and Health & Safety of Site Personal, Operators, Maintenance personnel
