Schoolgirl wins big with Standard Bank Rocking Future Roadshow

Grade 12 pupil Sehume Aleta of Townsview High was the lucky recipient of R10 000 when she was selected as the winner of the Standard Bank Rocking Future Roadshow draw on Friday 12 September. The Roadshow, which visited Krugersdorp in April, uses a blend of music, video and giveaways to portray a positive image about tertiary education study choices.

Each show features representatives of up to 20 of the country's finest universities and colleges, which help learners understand the enormity of study options available to them. The emphasis is on making the right career choice, not the expected one.

Aleta (19) was one of over 30 000 Grade 12s around the country who saw the show last year and entered the draw.

Tanya Vandenberg, creative director at Three Ring Circus, the producers of the show, said that, “The Standard Bank Rocking Future Roadshow is all about helping matrics find and follow their dreams. We hope this R10 000 prize will help Sehume with her studies next year, and put her on the road to success.”

The Roadshow will return to the Johannesburg area in February and March next year. For more information log onto: www.rockingfuture.co.za.
