Business Manager / Data Analyst
A retail pharmacy, with a branch in George, is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated data analyst / business manager to join their team.
The data analyst / business manager will be responsible for analysing business data to support decision-making processes and improve operational efficiency. This role will involve managing and interpreting large datasets, identifying trends and opportunities, and providing actionable recommendations to enhance business performance within the retail pharmacy sector.
Remuneration: R12,000 - R20,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)
Key responsibilities:
Data analysis and reporting:
- Collect, analyse, and interpret complex data sets from various sources (sales, inventory, customer behaviour, etc.)
- Develop and maintain regular reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support business strategy and operations
Business management:
- Collaborate with various departments (sales, marketing, finance, operations) to understand business needs and provide data-driven solutions
- Support the development and implementation of business strategies and initiatives
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of business processes and recommend improvements
Inventory and supply chain management:
- Analyse inventory levels and trends to optimise stock management and reduce excess inventory
- Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure efficient order fulfilment and minimise stockouts
- Forecast demand and support procurement planning
Customer insights and marketing support:
- Analyse customer data to understand buying patterns and preferences
- Provide insights to support targeted marketing campaigns and promotions
- Measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and suggest improvements
Financial analysis:
- Assist in budgeting and financial forecasting
- Analyse financial performance and identify areas for cost reduction and revenue enhancement
- Support the preparation of financial reports and presentations for management
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, data science, economics, statistics, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus
- Proven experience as a data analyst or business manager, preferably in the retail or pharmacy sector
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities
Preferred skills:
- Experience with retail management systems and advanced / expert knowledge of Excel (non-negotiable)
- Knowledge of inventory and supply chain management principles
- Familiarity with CRM and marketing analytics tools
