Cloud Data Engineer

As a cloud data engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing cloud-based data architectures to help organisations unlock the full potential of their data. You will work with modern cloud technologies to build data pipelines, manage large datasets, and ensure the efficient processing and storage of data across cloud environments.

Requirements

• Education: Degree or national diploma in computer science, data engineering, or a comparable field of study.
• Cloud data services: Familiarity with AWS services such as Glue, Redshift, S3, Lambda, EMR, and Athena, as well as Microsoft Fabric or Databricks.
• Big data technologies: Experience with Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka.
• Programming proficiency: Strong skills in Python, Pandas, and SQL.
• Database management: Experience with relational databases like AWS RDS, MS SQL, Azure SQL DB, or Postgres.
• Data engineering background: Knowledge and experience in data modelling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
• Infrastructure as code (IaC): Experience with tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Azure ARM/Bicep.
• DevOps fluency: Experience with CI/CD tools.
• Cloud certification: A plus.

• Designing and implementing optimal data models for projects.
• Identifying key performance improvement opportunities.
• Creating data validation models and ensuring data quality.
• Working with clients and team members to identify key data requirements.
• Writing appropriate algorithms to interpret and serve relevant data.
• Building robust data solutions.
