With a foundation in Medical Anthropology and a Master's degree in Public Health, I have work experience in government (Health) at both national and district levels (1995-2010). Since 2010, I have been employed in the field of project monitoring and evaluation by local and international not-for-profit development projects, and most recently a management consulting firm.
With an academic foundation in social sciences and a Master's degree in Public Health, I have 23 years' work experience in Southern Africa. After my military career and employment with local government, I have been working for local and international development organisations, and most recently, an international management consulting firm where I have continued to develop my managerial, research and data science skills in the domain of project monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning (MERL).
In addition, I have intermediate data science and business analysis competencies that include a working knowledge of various open-source and proprietary ICT platforms and graphical user interfaces used for structured query language and coding languages such as R and Python; geospatial mapping and analysis applications; business analysis and cloud-based data storage, analysis and sharing services.
For the purposes of performing predictive analytics and classification, I have the ability to apply machine learning algorithms mainly on structured datasets, and routinely perform data integration and cleansing; data extraction, transformation and loading; and data analyses, including the creation of interactive graphical data visualizations.
