junior online editorial assistant at this high-profile,
Cape Town-based, online media publisher.
Be the first point of contact for clients via email and telephone. Set up, proof, edit and approve online content.
You need to have strong attention to detail, people skills and English language skills (as this is a client-facing position), be computer literate, and enjoy spending time on the internet. Basic image editing experience is advantageous.
You may also be involved in the editorial operation, initially on a limited scale, but depending on your progress, to an increasing degree, eventually producing your own content. Therefore, a passion and aptitude in writing and editing, and the necessary skills in these areas, is essential.

Responsibilities:- Processing copy – scheduling, proofreading, fact-checking, sub-editing and layout design
- Upload subbed copy in a timely manner, based on deadlines
- Assist clients with inquiries efficiently and in a timely manner
- Assist in compiling and proofing daily, weekly and special newsletters
Requirements:- Journalism/language studies
- Fluent in English
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask
- Computer literate
- A profound sense of correctness when it comes to punctuation, spelling and grammar
- Strong English language skills
- Basic image editing experience
- Social media skills
- 1-2 years of experience in an online publishing environment
Advantageous:- Previous experience in a customer-service role/environment
- Basic image editing experience (Photoshop experience beneficial)
