Head: Operations & Strategy
Lucky-Fish -
Present - Johannesburg
I’ve worn a lot of different hats. As a freelancer I’ve run the marketing gamut. From e-blasts, social media, public relations and web marketing to copywriting, video and print production, you name it, I’ve done it. I’m extremely motivated, organised and disciplined – you have to be to work from home – and, it’s important to note, I have never had a dissatisfied client. While my official title at Lucky-Fish (my own company) is Head of Operations, in reality I am known as the person who could do everything. Hats I wear here include: copywriter, researcher extraordinaire, the Oscar Pistorius video reporter, website & design guru and my favourite – She Who Must Be Obeyed (earned for riding herd on the account executives and graphics geniuses). I thrived on the excitement of being involved at every level of every project. No matter where I’ve been, I’ve produced topnotch work because I’m dedicated to making sure each and every piece stands out from the crowd. Whether it’s promotional work for external clients or a social media campaign to launch a cd, I pride myself on my ability to recognise and articulate a distinct voice for every project. And that’s not always restricted to the written word. I’ve also designed and produced unique promotional giveaways for various clients. In my spare time I am a consultant and lecturer for Africa’s top marketing school, where I lecture on everything digital and of course, the strategy behind it all. Furthermore I do Keynote speaking at conferences at the Nedbank Auditorium and the Palazzo Hotel – all about being social, of course. While everything digital is my passion, social media is my bread and butter. Keeping on top of projects and making sure all parts get to the finish line at the same time is one thing I do best. The ability to juggle projects and never missing a deadline didn’t just develop through my professional experience. It also comes from having done this since I stepped out of university in 2011. I immediately started an internship in a corporate retail company after which my consultation and training exploded. In 2012 (only a few months after I graduated) I started consulting South African celebrities and small companies on their digital and traditional marketing campaigns. This includes social media, search engine optimisation, display media, google analytics, public relations, events and much more.
