New deli for Constantia

A new deli has opened on Constantia Main Rd, Constantia, Cape Town. Chardonnay Deli, open from 7.30am to 6.30pm, offers the charcuterie produced by Richard Bosman, cheeses sourced from the best dairies in South Africa, a wide range of gluten-free goodies to go, coffee by Truth, locally sourced fruit and vegetables and free range chicken sourced from Veld.

There are displays of organic fruit and vegetables and an order-a-box scheme runs from the deli. There is a daily blackboard menu for breakfast and lunch and customers will find there is a strong emphasis on wholesome food with a healthy slant. Meals are served from 7.30am to 4.pm.

Charmaine Lilje, a self-taught chef with a business degree and owner of successful catering company Chardonnay Chefs, owns the deli. Economist-turned-baker Malik Mosia makes magic with his artisan loaves including a 50% sourdough rye, a multigrain seed loaf and his trademark gourmet ciabattas, studded with everything from rosemary to olives.
