See: World Water Day - Cleaning up the Elsies River

As part of World Water Day on Tuesday, 22 March, GrandWest employees cleaned the Elsies River Canal. Valhalla Secondary School and Bellville High School students also participated in the clean-up. World Water Day is an initiative of the United Nations (UN). It was first observed in 1992 to highlight the value of water.

The theme for 2022 is 'Groundwater: Making the Invisible Visible' Groundwater provides nearly half of the world's drinking water. It also irrigates, supports ecosystems and helps adapt to climate change.
