Kamers announces Joburg and Cape Town shows

Wanda du Toit, one of Kamers' founders, said: “If ever my positivity for this country dips, I only need to revisit our 200-strong waiting list of talented, ingenious, enterprising people who we audition every quarter for our shows. The creativity and self-starting energy that is out there, in the most unlikely of places, and all over South Africa, is extraordinarily encouraging.”

This the 13th year is set to be one of real growth for SA’s most dynamic pop-up retail platform – one that gives hundreds of talented entrepreneurs a supportive and nurturing environment within which to cut their teeth in retail.

On the 2016 agenda are:

• Shows in Gauteng – St John’s College in late April with a second Jozi show planned for early September. Irene's end-of-year extravaganza - again to be held at Open Window School
• Cape shows will be in early June at the Castle (part of its 350th anniversary) and in the Winelands in early November
• The Young Entrepreneurs programme will mean at least a dozen of our traders at every show being younger than 28 years old, with only a year or less in business – a real kick-start for SA’s new entrepreneurial talent
• Incub8 – Kamers' entrepreneurship programme, in partnership with Absa, which will see hand-picked young talent given intensive mentoring from a panel of experts in order to leverage fledgling talent into thriving businesses

The shows for this autumn are:

• Kamers 2016 Joburg: 20 to 24 April at St John’s College, Houghton. 9am to 5pm Wednesday to Saturday, 9am to 3pm Sunday
• Kamers 2016 Cape Town: 1 to 5 June at the Castle of Good Hope. 9am to 5pm Wednesday to Saturday, 9am to 3pm Sunday
