The ninth annual Feather Awards
The ninth annual Feather Awards was held at The Theatre on the Track in Kyalami on 9 November 2017. The awards celebrate diversity and aims at gaining allies to help with the advocacy and education around issues of gender and sexual diversities. The Feather Awards is a social movement that advocates for equalised acceptance of the LGBTI community in society.
The theme of the event was Aluta Continua, meaning 'The Struggle Continues', which reflects the on-going struggles faced by LGBTI communities. Guests were entertained by Mshoza, Kelly Khumalo, Brenda Mtambo, Vintage Crew, DJ Tira and Zodwa Wabantu. The hosts for the awards were Khanya Mkangisa and Lumko Johnson.
