"We are always looking for ways to increase our interaction with the public and to generate awareness and education around the subject of the prevention of alcohol abuse and misuse and we certainly believe that the revamped website provides significantly more relevant information on how to behave responsibly with alcohol," says Adrian Botha, spokesperson for ARA.

Useful tips

The updated website provides useful tips for the holiday season to make sure that the public keep themselves safe, but still enjoy themselves responsibly. It also provides updates on legislation, guidelines for advertising alcohol products, community initiatives and school projects that deal with generating awareness and education on this issue.

"We see the website as an interactive tool which will hopefully encourage members of the public, business, community organisations and government to engage with liquor manufacturing and retail industry. Keeping the lines of communication open and allowing for consistent and constructive dialogue with the role-players is very important to our initiative," added Botha.
