Salary Review reveals 20% increase in IT salaries

This is just one of many interesting findings revealed by one of SA's leading job boards, CareerJunction, in their most recent Salary Review. The report, compiled by online labour market indicator, the CareerJunction Index (CJI), shows a 20% increase in salary offerings among managerial IT staff since the end of 2013. According to the CJI, this is most likely as a result of a steady and considerable increase in labour demand within the IT industry during 2014.

Other interesting findings seen from the Salary Review include a drop in salary offerings for most skilled level workers in the Manufacturing and Assembly sector of between 6-8% as well as a drop in salary offerings for skilled level Accountants (except Cost Accountants) of between 2-6%.

The Salary Review examines salary offerings for the latest measurable period (2nd and 3rd quarters, 2014) for the top 10 most sought after sectors in the South African job market and includes a regional scale for salary differences across Gauteng, the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.
