Annual CaesarStone student design competition openThe 2011 CaesarStone Annual Student Design Award is open for entry and encourages entrants to 'find a place for the range of what our lives are about'. Open to all students of interior design and architecture, the brief is to conceptualise a single space of mixed-use and multi-functionality; a place to sleep, eat, live, work and ultimately express our souls. The design proposal is to reflect a limited palette of materials in both external form and enclosure and in the internal fixtures and fittings. ![]() The deadline for submissions is 12 August 2011, and the awards evening will take place on 1 September. To enhance design education, iRender has facilitated free access to the participating students - this coup encourages students to sign up with iRender and enjoy Free of Charge Student Educational Licenses for Artlantis Studio 3 from Abvent, the creators of the Artlantis Rendering Application and also SketchUp Pro 8 from Google which assists students in creating models for rendering in Artlantis. As always, the prize for the winning student and lecturer is a comprehensive five-day trip to Caesarea, Israel, the home of CaesarStone, valued at R50,000.
