Snr. Lecturer MP and Research Course - Postgraduate
An opportunity is available for a committed and dedicated professional to join our postgraduate motion picture medium lectureship (BA Honours in Live Performance and MFA in Live Performance Medium) in 2025. This role focuses on learning outcomes in development, entrepreneurship, and innovation for television, film, and other entertainment platforms. The honours degrees in motion picture medium and live performance build on undergraduate studies through practice-led research and research-led practice. The MFA programme focuses solely on the motion picture medium. The degrees consist of three key components: core course, research development, and discipline. The growing recognition of creative practice as a form of research is central to these degrees, where practical work and research inform and enhance each other. We are looking for an experienced lecturer with industry expertise to teach across the motion picture discipline and research development. The ideal candidate will have the drive to inspire students, guiding them in scriptwriting, producing, directing, and integrating research into practical outcomes. Experience in engaging students with both classical and contemporary texts in film studies and production would be advantageous. Candidates should also have a strong research background, particularly in academic writing. The successful candidate will teach scriptwriting (fiction), producing, and directing within the motion picture stream and oversee the research course. They will develop lesson plans, teach, assess student work, and coordinate with other lecturers to ensure a high standard of education.
