Are you a dynamic and results-driven individual with a passion for sales and leadership? We're looking for a motivated National Sales Manager to join our growing team in the pet speciality sector. As the National Sales Manager, you will oversee national sales operations, manage a team of sales representatives and drive strategies to achieve sales targets. You will play a crucial role in analyzing sales data, monitoring stock levels, and fostering relationships with wholesalers, retailers and key accounts. Key responsibilities

Sales management
  • Monitor and analyse wholesaler sale performance by product range and region
  • Use sale data to identify trends, top-performing products and opportunities to improve underperformers.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to align sales data with promotions and product placement strategies.
Stock and trend analysis
  • Regularly review stock-on-hand reports to ensure adequate stock levels and prevent out-of-stock situations.
  • Analyse sales trends, including seasonal fluctuations and new product launches and report findings to Management.
Team leadership
  • Recruit, manage and onboard a national team of sales representatives across ket regions.
  • Set monthly sales targets and support the team with training, mentorship and performance reviews.
  • Implement call cycles to ensure customers are serviced regularly.
Key account management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts. spending 2-3 days/week in the trade.
  • Negotiate terms, secure new product listings, and manage exclusive promotions tailored to specific accounts.
  • Develop and execute tailored sales strategies to maximise revenue and customer satisfaction.
Product training and development
  • Conduct product training for sales representatives, wholesalers and customers to improve their knowledge and selling ability.
  • Oversee product launches, ensuring the smooth rollout of promotional campaigns with supporting materials
Competitor and market analysis
  • Analyse competitor strategies, pricing, and product offerings to identify market gaps and opportunity.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to maintain a competitive advantage.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Five-plus years experience in sales management preferably within the wholesale, retail and pet industry
  • Strong leadership, data analysis and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed targets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel nationally to service key accounts and oversee regional operations
  • Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
  • Valid Driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and sales reporting software
