Toll Collector

Location: Huguenot Tunnel and Toll Plaza N1, Paarl Western Cape Report To: Shift Manager

Qualification and skills:

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Knowledge of the Toll Collection process is an advantage
• Excellent communication skills, be able to communicate with the public
• Interpersonal Relationship Skills
• Self-management
• Basic computer Literacy skills
• Numeric ability to count cash quickly and accurately
• History of unquestionable integrity
• Certificate of Fitness

Responsibilities:

• Use Toll and Lane equipment as required
• Classify vehicles as prescribed
• Report all incidents, violations, and malfunctioning equipment to the Shift Manager in the prescribed manner and record such.
• Ensure a toll booth is always clean and orderly.
• Follow all shift procedures.
• Handle cash and other documents in the prescribed manner.
• Maintain excellent relations with the road user.
• Comply with policies, Procedures, Health and Safety, and Security Procedures at work.
• Report fraud or irregularities to Management.
