Job description

A Media agency in Lonehill, Johannesburg is looking for a Junior Sales Executive to sell exhibition space and conference attendance across exciting and dynamic expos and events, as well as sell advertising space in industry leading print publications.

The Sales Executive will be tasked with identifying and generating sales opportunities through outbound calling activities. The right candidate will be one who is energetic, works well under pressure, thinks out-of-the-box, easily initiates relaxed but informative phone conversations with prospective clients and is highly self-motivated. The right candidate will also understand how to assess a client’s needs and develop a tailored and appropriate solution. The position offers a fixed salary with a high commission rate.



Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for educating, developing & nurturing sales prospects.
  • Create target prospect lists and generate key accounts.
  • Cold call into prospects generated by a variety of outside sources.
  • Identify key players, research business requirements, and present solutions to begin a sales cycle.
  • Demonstrate the value of our offering through phone calls, email, LinkedIn and other social media.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients through an understanding of their needs across the agency’s well-established products.
  • Collaborate with team members on a strategic sales approach.


Requirements

To be successful at this role you will need to be:
  • A self-starter with a background in business-to-business sales.
  • Not afraid to pick up the phone, this is an outbound calling position.
  • Able to build rapport quickly with a diverse range of clients form several different industries.
  • Positive with an outgoing social demeanour.


Other Experience and Skills preferred:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Time management skills
  • Highly organised and strategic thinker
  • Effective in-person and electronic communication ability.
  • High energy & ability to work on several projects simultaneously and methodically.
