Legal and Compliance Manager
Qualifications and Requirements
o Proficient in MS Office and SAP o Postgraduate qualification in Labour Relations or law o Knowledge of collective bargaining o Managerial experience (essential) o Willingness to travel with a valid Driver’s Licence o Own reliable transport Duties
o Manage regional staff o Review legal documents and cases; provide management advice o Represent the Council in arbitration/proceedings o Liaise with external lawyers on litigation o Ensure statutory compliance and risk management o Advise on legal risks and manage internal policies o Draft contracts, agreements, and exemption outcome letters o Implement compliance checklists and internal control measures 10. Manage Designated Agents, set targets, and align plans with strategic vision 11. Oversee Case Management function 12. Update information on the SAP system 13. Develop strategic plans and prepare budgets for the legal team 14. Prepare monthly and quarterly department reports 15. Lead, supervise, train, and develop staff to ensure an effective team 16. Conduct performance appraisals and address skill gaps 17. Create an annual Skills Development Plan for staff 18.
