Account Director

A top-tier media agency in Lonehill, Johannesburg, needs an experienced professional with a proven background in media agency account management, specifically with blue-chip clients. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of seven years of experience, a strong strategic mindset, and the ability to deliver unparalleled client service. Key Responsibilities
  • Client Leadership: Act as the strategic partner and primary relationship manager for an elite portfolio of clients, establishing and nurturing long-term partnerships that drive sustained business value.
  • Account Ownership: Oversee the full lifecycle of client accounts, proactively addressing issues and executing impactful strategies aligned with client goals.
  • Growth Initiatives: Identify and capitalize on business development opportunities within existing accounts to broaden our service footprint and deepen client relationships.
  • Strategic Oversight: Collaborate with senior stakeholders to craft and implement forward-thinking account strategies that consistently drive revenue and account growth.
  • Internal Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams to ensure that client needs are anticipated and met with efficiency and precision, promoting seamless project execution.
  • Insights & Reporting: Lead in providing insightful updates, comprehensive client status reports, and meaningful analytics. Candidates with expertise in PR and social media reporting are particularly valuable for this role.

Qualifications
  • Experience: A minimum of seven years in account management within a media agency, specifically managing blue-chip client relationships.
  • Skills:

o   Exceptional leadership and interpersonal abilities, with a strong track record in building and maintaining high-impact client relationships.

o   Advanced skills in strategic client engagement, media planning, and campaign management.

o   Deep understanding of PR and social media analytics, enabling the interpretation and presentation of actionable insights to clients.

o   High-level organizational and multitasking capabilities, with experience managing multiple high-profile accounts concurrently.

o   Proficiency in CRM platforms, project management software, and MS Office Suite.
