The Martell Afropunk festival experience
Africa experienced its first Afropunk festival on 30 and 31 December 2017 at Constitutional Hill in Johannesburg, South Africa. Attendees that stopped by the Martell Village at the event were offered cocktails, Martell infused foods and ultraviolet light tattoos.
The festival hosted a line-up of international and local musical acts such as from Anderson .Paak, The Free Nations, Laura Mvula, King TA vs Blk Jks, Black Motion, DJ Kenzero, DJ Lag, Theo Parrish, Thebe, Goods and Sons, The Alvinator, Sho Madjozi and others. The Martell Village had its own dedicated area at the festival that featured an elevated viewing deck.
