Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (FMCSA) has appointed Tim Day as the new plant manager of its Silverton assembly plant in Pretoria. Day previously held the executive vice president of manufacturing position at Auto Alliance Thailand (AAT).
He joined Ford in 1985 as an apprentice motor mechanic and quickly moved up the ranks in the motor manufacturing industry. He has since held various positions in the industry, including transformation manager and assistant plant manager at the Silverton assembly plant between 2009 and 2013.
Day took over the plant manager from Ramon Garcia on 1 February.
