Job description

The in-store research analyst is responsible for assisting the In-store Manager with various client-related tasks. Assistance must be rendered in a professional and pro-active manner, with these tasks being completed within the time frame specified by the iInstore manager.

Principle responsibilities:
  • The cloning of jobs on a weekly basis, with alignment to the departmental production schedule
  • Adding of new project elements and observations into the database, when required
  • Maintenance and coding of new project elements and observations within both the job and database structures
  • Producing and delivering accurate client reports timeously on a weekly, monthly and ad-hoc basis. This will also include informing relevant parties timeously if this will not be possible
  • Handling of all client queries both effectively and efficiently
  • Actioning of additional requests and tasks from both the instore manager and clients respectively
  • Capturing of job specific information, when required
  • Updating of job bases according, to both internal and external stakeholder requests/requirements
  • Amending report structures according, to both internal and external stakeholder requests/requirements
  • Assisting the data processing department with data cleaning, when required
  • Assisting the quality control department with data checking, when required
  • Ultimately driving insight creation through dedicated account/ project management practices
On-going services:
  • Participating in departmental/cross-departmental meetings, when required
  • Cross-departmental stakeholder management: Liaising and managing deliverable expectations across the Quality Control, Data Quality, Field and IT departments.
  • Providing and managing communication on a daily basis to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Arranging and participating in meetings, conferences, and project team activities when required


Key Requirements:
  • A three-year business related degree is essential (with preference given to those with an analytical/mathematics/science background)
  • A minimum of one to three years’ experience within the marketing research industry is essential
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly data orientated, with high levels of numeracy and analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel skills, with a key focus on pivot table creation and adaptation as well as key formula/function understanding
  • Strong communication skills across both internal and external clients
  • Database skills, updating and maintaining databases
  • High personal accountability levels
  • Strong problem-solving skills
