Maximising the Mini Odyssey to viewers

Television production company Orcom is bringing the thrills and spills of the Mini Odyssey - the epic journey of three Mini Cooper S cars from Johannesburg to the Mini manufacturing plant in Oxford in the UK, via the east coast of Africa - to viewers around the world, with daily website coverage.

The Mini Odyssey is designed to highlight the robust durability and mechanical integrity of every Mini and draw attention to its thrill-seeking nature.

Orcom's owner-manager, Sean Simpson, is part of the Odyssey crew and is responsible for filming and photographing the entire event, as well as acting as communications manager and back-up driver. His footage and images will be uploaded to www.miniodyssey.co.za daily. Visitors will be able to experience each day's challenges, with footage being beamed back to South Africa by data satellite.

The team will travel through Botswana, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Sudan and Egypt before crossing the Mediterranean by ferry into Italy and continuing into France and England. They are expected to arrive in Oxford on 25 April 2006.
