Howden Africa's earnings up 26%

Designer‚ manufacturer and marketer of air and gas handling solutions Howden Africa reported a 25.8% improvement in earnings per share from 193.97 cents to 244.05 cents for the year to December.

The group posted an operating profit of R220.4m - a 29.8% increase on last year's profit of R169.9m.

This was achieved on the back of a 33.3% growth in revenue to almost R1.4bn.

Commenting on the results‚ Howden Africa said: "The Group has benefited from a continuation of improved market conditions and increased efficiencies to generate improvements in revenue and operating profits for the year to December.

"The environmental control and fan and heat exchanger divisions both delivered strong growth in revenue and operating profit compared with the previous year," it said.
