New editor for INSIG

Izelle Venter has been appointed editor of the award-winning Afrikaans lifestyle magazine INSIG. Venter will officially join the INSIG team and New Media in February 2006. Her first issue as editor will be the April issue that will be on the shelves in the last week of March.

The former tvplus and Move! editor began her career with De Kat magazine and since then has worked on numerous titles. No stranger to New Media, Venter has worked with the group as managing editor, assistant editor and assistant publisher for various titles including VISI, Eat In and Dish/Skottel. Venter has also previously worked with INSIG as their Johannesburg representative.

INSIG was recently awarded the coveted Rossi Trophy for the best consumer title in the country, at the 36th annual Sappi Pica Awards. INSIG also won best General Interest News and Entertainment magazine.

According to INSIG publisher Irna van Zyl, Venter is the ideal editor for the niche title. "Izelle's strong journalistic background, her affinity for current issues and strong organisational skills make her the perfect candidate for this position. Under her guidance we are confident that INSIG will continue to grow from strength-to-strength as South Africa's foremost consumer title."

INSIG is published for Media24 by New Media.
