Celebrating the beauty of the still image

The Cannes Film Festival is all about pictures, and not just the moving kind. HP, with the help of Christinger Partner AG, has been reflecting the majesty of the festival with beautiful still images across the city.
Celebrating the beauty of the still image

As official provider of graphic art printing services to the festival, much of the collateral, such as the official poster, programmes, billboards and signs have been created by HP with an HP Scitex super-wide format printer, an HP Designjet large format printer, and an HP Indigo digital press.

From the festival poster and programmes to the stunning Chopard Exhibition, HP's new digital printing technologies are capturing the spirit of the Festival and showing that digital is no longer just for holiday snaps - it's the technology of choice for the most glamorous images in the world.

Super-wide decoration at Cannes

Catherine Démier, general director of the International Cannes Film Festival, says, "The Cannes Film Festival draws the attention of the world's media and we need to be sure everything looks perfect."

Using an HP Scitex XL1500, HP has produced several high profile banners that adorn iconic festival locations, including the one gracing the red-carpeted entrance to Le Palais des Festivals. In order to do, this HP Scitex approached one of its many long-standing, valued customers, Christinger Partner AG, in Switzerland.

Christinger Partner used its HP Scitex XL1500 to produce three "eye-catching" super-wide banners, all over 25 x 11m and three smaller banners of 6 x 3m each. They were all printed on a flame-retardant mesh and took only 25 hours to print.
