Online property site revamps look, expands offerings

Following the acquisition of a 65% stake in Knowledge Factory - owner of CyberProp, PropertyDotGo and the South African Property Transfer Guide - by Howzit MSN parent company, Kagiso Media, the portal has revamped its property section in partnership with CyberProp.

The improved property section adds international property listings, a range of tools such as bond repayment and exchange rate calculators and data and statistics for buyers and sellers.

The new section currently has more than 140 000 listings of properties for sale and more than 10 000 for rental. The database contains a full range of properties from residential properties to farms and industrial premises. In addition, CyberProp has a big list of estate agents in South Africa.

"An aggressive push"

"This forms part of an aggressive push into the online property market for Howzit MSN and Kagiso Media," says Howzit GM, Marcus Stephens. "There is a great strategic fit between our strengths and focuses in the property market and those of CyberProp. It brings a database of properties to property buyers, while we can offer an audience of more than two million visitors to property sellers."

To celebrate the new property section, the site currently has a competition running. Go to http://properties.howzit.msn.com/ before 31 March 2012.
