CineMARK honours top Young Creatives

Matthew Barnes and John Santana from Net#work BBDO have won the 2004 CineMARK Young Creative Award. Courtesy of CineMARK, they will be jetting off to Cannes next month to represent South Africa at the global Young Creatives competition at the Cannes International Advertising Festival.

Jason Kempen and Paul Sanders from Saatchi & Saatchi, Johannesburg came second, while Alison Hingle and Ivan Pols from Ogilvy, Johannesburg took third place.
 
In the Student category, Taryn Scher and Emma Launder from the AAA School of Advertising in Johannesburg took first place and won themselves CineMARK VIP movie cards entitling them to unlimited free movies to the end of 2004. Kristoff Smit and Sherise Ferreira from Vega, The Brand Communications School came in second, while Heanel Oosthuizen and Rusha Malan from AAA, and Liam Olding and Gareth Pretorius, also from AAA, took joint third.
 
The judging panel for this competition included: Rajesh Ranchod, Creative Director, Saatchi & Saatchi; Vanessa Klevansky, Creative Director, Lobedu Leo Burnett; Patrick Robertson, Creative Director, Red Nail; John Davenport, Senior Copywriter, Net#work BBDO; and Dulile Sowaga, Media and Marketing Journalist, City Press.
