Disaster strikes in 2012!

From the director of ‘Independence Day' and ‘Day After Tomorrow', Roland Emmerich, brings you 2012, the next apocalypse. Much controversy is circling the Mayan prophecy of 2012. Movies are being made about it and speculation is in the air that ‘the world as we know it is coming to an end'.
Disaster strikes in 2012!

I'm not sure if I'm running with this one but it's scary to think what could happen and Emmerich gives us a good idea of what we can expect.

The film follows the Mayan calendar prediction that the earth will reach its expiry date by the year 2012. When the news first comes from a young scientist, Dr Adrian Helmsley (Chiwetel Ejiofor), that the earth's crust is disintegrating and that this is bigger than the shifting of earth plates, the government and higher authority must find a way to survive the most epic catastrophe that is about to hit the world.

Almost every natural disaster is featured in this film with cutting-edge visual effects throughout. It draws elements from Titanic and a modern-making of Noah's Ark. Who will be left behind? Only a chosen few can survive to see the next civilisation.

Interesting and gripping with a touch of light humour for relief. Some parts seem to drag but the momentum is still there.

John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, Oliver Platt and Danny Glover also star in this film.

Don't be the last to know - Catch this one next week. It releases on Friday, 4 December.
