Rabinowitz takes What the EFF? to the KNKK

South African comedian Nik Rabinowitz is to present his new show, What the EFF?, at the KKNK in Oudtshoorn from 5 to 8 April, 2015. The show is a tongue-in-cheek look at the current state of affairs in South Africa.
Rabinowitz takes What the EFF? to the KNKK

Rabinowitz, who has performed in theatres all over the world, is looking forward to be on stage for the first time at the KKNK: "This is going to be fun. My wife said that I am not allowed to ride on an ostrich though! On a personal note, I look forward to be discovering the grave of my great grandfather Morris Braude, who is allegedly buried in Oudtshoorn. Who knows, I might even reconnect with some distant Boere Jood cousins. Anything is possible! By the way I hear the Hof won`t be there this year. I really liked him in Knight Rider."

Pep Store overalls

It's hard to live in South Africa for more than five minutes without looking around in exasperation and asking: What the EFF? You know that feeling: you've made pasta, you've poured yourself a drink and you're about to enjoy one of modern life's greatest pleasures - dinner in front of the TV - and then it's all snatched away from you in an instant: load shedding. And what about that bottomless feeling when you come back to where you definitely parked your car to find an empty space instead? Whether it's the robots that haven't worked in so long that drivers are confused when they do work; or politicians marching into parliament in Pep Store overalls, hard hats and Italian shoes, at some point you've probably asked yourself, What the EFF?

From the leafy green ganglands of Sandton to the imaginary book storage lockers of Limpopo, Nik Rabinowitz has cast his eye far and wide to answer that question. Or maybe not answer it, so much as shake it a bit and see what falls out.

Rabinowitz's slice-fine humour and stage antics have won him numerous awards over the past few years. In 2014 he won the America Meets World comedy title and on local shores he was awarded the Stand Up of The Year in 2008 and 2009.Rabinowitz has also been nominated for his outstanding acting in various movies including SAFTA and SA Film and TV Awards. He has performed at the Royal Albert Hall in London (2010) and has also been on stage in Holland, Australia and Canada.

Tickets are R120 at Computicket.
