Britain's Daily Telegraph reported that a paintball company is keen to hire a "bullet impact tester" to help with health and safety checks over the festive season.

The tester must stand in the line of fire for a £40,000 salary. The report quotes Justin Toohig, founder of UK Paintball, as saying the job would be ideal for students or young adults trying to save money, particularly those with a high pain threshold and those for whom "fear is a foreign concept".

Trained professionals will monitor the firing exercises, but there is a risk of pain, discomfort and bruising, the job advertisement reads.

The successful applicant may also have to wear limited items of clothing while the paint bullets are tested to research certain "worst case" scenarios.

"Whoever is handed the role will essentially need to be shot at for roughly an hour or two a day, Monday to Friday, around our busy Christmas and New Year period at our headquarters in London," Toohig reportedly said. - Staff reporter
