Mango most on time domestic airline for third year in a row

The airline's performance is testament to a continuous focus on operational efficiencies. "Our focus remains on constant and never-ending improvement," says Bezuidenhout, "presently our aircraft are turned around in record time - spending less than 25 minutes in the bay at some ports between operated flights." Mango has also enjoyed growing load factors during the first quarter of 2011 with an average above 85% across its network.

In an increasing competitive environment, Bezuidenhout believes that factors such as on-time performance greatly influence a carrier's reputation and holds substantial commercial impetus. "There are few differentiators between buying a seat on airline A or B - it gets one to your destination. The equation becomes affordability linked to service levels and ultimately on time performance that makes the greatest impact on your reputation."

Mango will soon be introducing new aircraft to its fleet as well as announce new destinations. "Being the most on-time airline, and pursuing the same achievement at new ports of operation, will deliver an added competitive edge to our operations."
