Perdeberg Winery gains international appeal

Perdeberg Winery did exceptionally well at the recent International Michelangelo Awards 2010, winning a Double gold for their Rex Equus Cabernet Sauvignon 2007, a Silver for the new Rex Equus 2009 (a blend between Shiraz -30%, Cabernet Franc 30%, Petit Verdot 30%, Malbec 10%) and another Silver for the Pinotage Reserve 2009.

CEO of Perdeberg, Gerhard van der Watt, points out that "for our Rex Cabernet Sauvignon to be one of only a handful of wines to be presented with a Double Gold medal is an honour. The Cabernet has this year reached the recognition that the Rex Shiraz achieved last year when it received a trophy at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2009. The range continues to show incredible promise."

The results were announced at a luncheon on Friday, 10 September at the Lord Charles Hotel in Somerset West.
