Mike Nussey joins Applied Media Logic

Media planning agency Applied Media Logic (AML) has appointed Mike Nussey as a director alongside MD Kim Weissensee and director Michiel Bester.

Nussey's career spans over 30 years, 10 of them at McCann Erickson and 10 years as MD of Optimum Media (formerly Ogilvy and Mather Rightford) before he was appointed founding CEO of Mindshare. Before joining AML, he was the business unit director and former MD of MEC.

He has worked on such accounts as SABMiller, GlaxoSmithKline, Nestlé, KFC, Sun International, Volvo, Jaguar, Audi, Pick n Pay, Colgate Palmolive and Kellogg's.

"This move bolsters our management team and really does propel our company forwards," said Weissensee. "We don't intend letting the grass grow under our feet and hiring Mike will add significant punch to our offering. His past level of accountability has involved around R1.5 billion of media and overall control of 40 to 60 staff."

"I've known Kim for many years, having first worked with her at Optimum. She has really impressed me with her positive attitude and energy as she has won account after account and grown AML to be in the top ten media companies in the country. No small feat given the short amount of time it took her and her staff to achieve this," said Nussey about his move. "With her energy and our combined knowledge I believe we have a lot to offer AML's existing and future clients."
