Fortunately, the country offers a wealth of venues, indoor and outdoor to cater to every lifestyle and leisure option, including mountain biking.

Part of Euphoria Telecom’s commitment to the communities it works in and with, we have invested in upgrading and maintaining the Tokai Vasbyt mountain bike trail. But we’re a national business, and this year we wanted our commitment to reflect our countrywide presence.

That’s why we partnered with local mountain biking legend Myles Kelsey of Bike Network to produce a run down of 11 mountain bike trails your kids will love to explore this holiday season in Cape Town, Gauteng and KZN.

As more and more kids are getting into mountain biking, more facilities are catering to them, their parents and even non-cyclist, who can hike, or relax in restaurant facilities that many parks now offer.

From Johannesburg’s Delta Park to the outstanding Giba Gorge in KZN, and the first-class The Bike Park at Constantia Uitsig there’s something for everyone in our overview.

If you’re in Gauteng, in addition to Delta Park, give the Buffelsdrift Trail Park in Pretoria a try. Like Delta, it also caters to runners. If you’re feeling more adventurous, the Wolwespruit MTB Park offers wonderfully crafted single track. The Cycle Lab Bike Park in Bryanston offers trails for all ages and skill levels plus party facilities and a friendly deck to hang out on while the kids play. Rietvlei Trails boasts something for everyone, offering riding, picnicking, and other facilities, perfect for a great day out.

If you’re in KZN, in addition to Giba Gorge, there's also Holla Trails, a great place to build your kids’ skills and fitness levels.

In addition to Tokia MTB and The Bike Park Constantia Uitsig, Capetonians should check out Specialized Paarl, which has purpose-built kids facilities, or Bloemendal Trail Park, Durbanville, which offers bike fit, bike hire, a restaurant, parties and more.
