2021 Miss Soweto crowned

In a night of glitz and glamour Ludina Ngwenya was crowned the 2021 Miss Soweto in an electrifying event that was held at the Soweto Theatre this weekend.

The Queen of Soweto walked away with a grand prize of R100,000 from White Star and earned herself a brand-new Toyota Starlet for the year of her reign and will also get a year’s worth of beauty pampering by Candi & Co and evening gowns by Eli Ball.

Her first princess, Ontshiametse Tlhopane, and second princess, Thando Tshabalala, each walked away with R25,000 and R15,000 cash prizes, respectively.

Other winners of the evening were: Zanele Phakathi, who won Miss Social Butterfly, and Lebogang Chiloane, who won Miss Congeniality.

The 2021 Miss Soweto was judged by broadcaster, businesswoman and 2002 Miss South Africa runner-up, Bridget Masinga, and former fashion editor and blogger, Grace Mantjiu, and renowned author and editor-in-chief of S-Mag, Emmanuel Tjiya.

This awesome experience will also broadcast on Soweto TV (Channel 251) on 4 December at 18h00. The pageant enjoys a long-standing partnership with Soweto TV.

Pageant sponsors were Even and Lovely, Eli Ball, K Mile Models, Designer Photo, Candi & Co, Huda Beauty by Arc Store, Vodacom’s The Fuse, and Toyota, who will provide their latest Starlet model to the winner during her reign.
