"The global Halaal food market alone is estimated at US$600 billion (about R4026 billion) and global trade in Halaal foods is estimated at between 5-12% of the total trade in agri foods," says Cassim Nakkooda from South African Halaal Trading Services (SAHTRADE), a company that assists South African companies with marketing their Halaal certified goods and services to the global market.

Range of products

"Halaal World is a clearly defined subdivision of Africa's Big Seven that specifically caters for the industry and enables suppliers, manufacturers, traders and organisations from around the world to meet, market their products, and exchange business ideas," says John Thomson, MD of Exhibition Management Services, the organisers of AB7.

This portion of the expo will feature canned products, beverages, agricultural products, dairy products, confectionery, grocery products, meat products, herbs and spices, frozen and organic food products, fresh and dried fruit and vegetables
