Big beat musician to help raise AIDS awareness funds

Fatboy Slim, better known for his contribution to the world of music as a producer and musician, is coming to SA to help raise funds for AIDS awareness drive.

Fatboy Slim arrives in South Africa on the 1st December, International World Aids Day and while the primary reason for his trip is of a serious nature, he also has two scheduled public performances whilst in the country. Norman Cook is representing the "Coaching for Hope" initiative as the charity expands its programme into South Africa ahead of the 2010 World Cup. The charity uses football to empower young people in the developing world by making them aware of the dangers of HIV and Aids.

With five Grammy nominations (including one win) and nine MTV video awards, Fatboy Slim's audience crosses over into the rock, pop & dance worlds & extends from club kids up to soccer moms. His SA fans can catch him headlining South Africa's largest daytime outdoor dance party, H2O in Boksburg, Johannesburg on Sunday 2 December. The event is also billed as an official Aids Awareness Fundraiser. And then the legendary DJ ends his African sojourn on Friday 7 December at Atmospheer Nightclub in Cape Town.
