Belgian PR company aims to expand into southern Africa

Leading Belgian PR group, Creative Strategies, has established its own office in South Africa. This is the first step in a strategy to expand the company's business activities into the southern African region and to lend additional support to the group's existing international expansion.

Stellenbosch – In a case of “all points north”, Creative Strategies NV, a leading independent Belgian communications agency with expertise in public relations and public affairs, is celebrating its 20th anniversary by establishing its own office in Stellenbosch, South Africa. The subsidiary was established at the beginning of May 2007 under the name Creative Strategies PR & Consulting Pty and is aimed at expanding the group in the southern African region. Apart from their presence in the most important Eastern European countries, the company wishes to support its expansion strategy further in areas of high economic growth that will be offering a multitude of opportunities in the years to come.

Since its inception in 1987, Creative Strategies has grown into one of the leading public relations service providers in the Benelux countries. Its office has been successfully active in Eastern Europe for many years. The company is mainly active in four prime sectors: ICT, biotech/health, energy and financial services. This focus also appears to be an international trump card.

In South Africa, Creative Strategies PR & Consulting will be following a dual approach. The office will support and accompany European companies that wish to develop business opportunities in the southern African market. In addition, the company will also service South African organisations that are, or wish to become active in the European market.

“The choice of South Africa is logical”, says Benita Dreesen, managing director. “This region, with Johannesburg as its catalyst, is politically stable and offers an excellent investment climate. The sectors in which we are active are experiencing rapid growth, partially under the influence of the recent deregulation of the telecoms market. This has resulted in a considerable expansion of the ICT sector in general. We foresee that the number of high-technology companies in southern Africa will expand in the years to come."

To ensure the further expansion of its South African office, Creative Strategies PR & Consulting has signed major cooperation agreements with local role-players, all of whom specialise in the same fields of expertise.
