AdMag Awards call for entry

The Advantage AdMag Awards for South African consumer magazines' has called for entries into its 2007 AdMag Awards. Initiated by John Farquhar, AdVantage's Editor-in-Chief, the Awards recognise outstanding and innovative consumer publishing. Only ABC certified consumer publications are eligible to enter.

“A magazine is the only medium that allows people to take time out, relax and forget about life's hassles while they engage with content that is both stimulating and entertaining,” says John Farquhar. “Magazines offer the best value. We are looking for publications that clearly target their defined market through understanding who its readers are, quality editorial and design and demonstration of a clear focus, without simply being based on LSM groupings.”

Judged by a panel of independent experts, the 2007 AdMag Awards' selection process adheres to strict adjudicator guidelines. Winners are chosen on a range of imperatives including editorial focus, relevance to target market and visual appeal. ABCs, cover prices and number of advertising pages sold for 2006 versus 2007 are also taken into account.

Where applicable, judges award a winning magazine per category and overall awards for: Magazine of the Year, Editor of the Year, Publisher of the Year, International Title of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and Best Magazine Advertisement in Advantage.
