A study by Airbnb reveals that home sharing is a more sustainable way of traveling because it generates lower rates of water use, less greenhouse gas emissions, and waste. Airbnb says houses in Europe consume 78% less energy and 48% less water than hotels, per guest night. But not everything is about the houses: Airbnb hosts are mostly eco-conscious – 89% of European and 61% of North American hosts provide recycling options for their guests.
