The Cape Town International Boat Show 2009

The Cape Town International Boat Show will be held between 24 to 27 September 2009 at the CTICC. The V&A Waterfront will be featuring catamarans, yachts and the lifestyle accessories that go with them. Craft from R1000 to R30 million will be on show.

“With the addition of another day, visitors from across the country would be able to come and experience the very best in boating in the most beautiful setting the country has to offer,” said Johnny Malherbe of Impact Exhibitions, organiser of the Cape Town International Boat Show.

The Mother City is the perfect backdrop for such an event and the Boat Show is the single biggest showcasing of the very best in boating, water sports and leisure. Once again the V&A Waterfront will be linked with the CTICC by water taxi. There will also be a range of things to do and see in and around the water.

Contrary to popular belief, boating is affordable and there's a model for every age, lifestyle and budget. Most people don't realise how affordable boating is and, for this reason, they stay away from boating companies.

Whilst an important aspect of the event is to provide exhibitors with a sophisticated showcase for multi-million rand cruisers and “dream” craft, show organisers Dana Whiting and Johnny Malherbe realise that the show needs to be largely geared towards visitors who are either new to boating or who have to consider a more modest family budget. For this reason, the show also brings a variety of boats and visitors will find crafts ranging from as little as R1000 to R30 million in value.

“One of our biggest goals for the show is to create awareness of the glorious lifestyle and the growing boating community,” said Dana Whiting of Impact Exhibitions.

The organisers say there will be “Big boats, little boats, sailboats, paddle boats, powerboats, inflatable boats, fast boats, slow boats, fun boats, working boats - if it's a boat and it floats, you will find it at the Boat Show.”
