5FM appoints new Marketing Manager

"Following on my appointment as 5FM's events coordinator last year, it's a great challenge that I embrace with the enthusiasm, commitment, energy & passion that the marketing manager-role requires," says Aisha.

Aisha's involvement in radio stems from her initial exposure in sales and marketing at Primedia Broadcasting (including 702 Talk Radio). Her path lead her into events, sponsorships and promotions at Radmark, before joining 5FM in October 2003 as Marketing Coordinator. She was promoted to Events Coordinator for 5FM last year.

In her capacity as Marketing Coordinator, Aisha was part of the team that developed the new positioning for 5FM (Commercial Hit Radio). As Events Coordinator she has worked on multiple events, including the international tours of REM, Basement Jaxx, Black Eyed Peas, Avril Lavigne, 50 Cent, Enrique Iglesias, The Offspring, as well as various outside broadcasts, including the recent 5FM trip to the Tiffindell Ski Resort.

Says Aisha on her appointment: "As a young South African I find myself embarking on a new era in radio. My aim is to draw on the diversity of our listeners and to cross cultural boundaries so as to tap into their lives. The station is ever-changing, current, national and strongly dynamic."
