I have more than 10 years of experience working as an Editor and Translator in both English and Afrikaans.
I'm currently employed as a Content Editor, assisting Content and Project Managers globally with developing and producing English Language course material (both print and digital) for the international market. I have learned to manage my time effectively and to communicate effectively with different Service Providers to meet deadlines and deliver material that complies with the client briefs and standards expected for publication internationally.
My previous work experience includes working as a Sub-Editor for Panorama Media on trade publications, including Animal Talk, HQ, HQ Pony, Skyways, and Interesting; and as a Sub-Editor for Independent Newspapers on both the print and online content for African Independent. I have also worked as a Translator on Beeld, Rapport, and Daily Sun.
In addition to my work experience, I have completed various independent courses for self-improvement and professional development, including, but not limited to, the University of Pretoria's programme in Editing: Principles and Practice, and Copy-editing for Electronic Publications (HTML); and UCT GetSmarter's courses in Copy-editing and Copywriting for Online Marketing.
